The power engineering specialists has started reconstruction of a Major heatinggrid in Kupchino

Specialists of JSC St. PetersburgHeatingGrid and contractors have started integral reconstruction of the Frunzenskaya Major heatinggrid. This year, the power engineering specialists will completely replace a problem section of a 5.2 km pipe, 1000 and 1200 mm in diameter, on Budapeshtskaya Street from Malaya Balkanskaya Street to Plovdivskaya Street.

Frunzenskaya is a key address of the investment program of JSC St. PetersburgHeatingGrid for 2012. The scope of work on this facility was increased by three times in comparison with the amount planned earlier. Reconstruction will be implemented in three stages at no interruption of the hot water supply to nearby buildings.

At present, the area has been prepared, and a temporary pipeline has been assembled and is being commissioned, which will supply hot water to buildings during the Major heatinggrid reconstruction.

The Major heatinggrid is modernized with application of energy efficient technologies and materials including pipes in foamed polyurethane heat insulation with conductors for online remote moisture rate control. The normative life limit of this new generation of pipes is 25-30 years. Foamed polyurethane pipe insulation makes it possible to reduce heat loss by many times and to avoid contract with ground water, which will prevent corrosion development.
