Experts of JSC St. PetersburgHeatingGrid and
contractors have started integral reconstruction of the Moskovskaya Major
heatinggrid, a one of the key object of the Company's investment program in
2012. This summer, the power engineering specialists will completely replace a
1.17 km insecure section of the main pipeline, 700 mm in diameter, which is
located under the roadbed of Aviatsionnaya Street from Lensoveta Street to
Moskovsky Avenue.
This is the final stage of a large-scale
project of raising the efficiency and quality of heat supply for locals. At
present, the area has been prepared, and a temporary pipeline has been
assembled and is being commissioned, which will supply hot water to buildings
during the Major heatinggrid reconstruction.
Teploset is laying the new Major heatinggrid in
coordination with other jobs on the city transport infrastructure to avoid any
extra inconveniences for the people. Reconstruction will be complete in three
months, and once the buildings are switched from the temporary pipeline to the
new one, the roadbed will be handed over to special companies for street
railway overhaul. Final finishing of the area is scheduled for the end of
August when the pavement and lawns will be restored.
The Major heatinggrid is modernized at the cost
of the Company's own funds with application of energy efficient technologies
and materials. Modern pipes in foamed polyurethane heat insulation with conductors
for online remote moisture rate control are laid. Foamed polyurethane pipe
insulation makes it possible to reduce heat loss by many times and to avoid contact
with ground water, which will prevent corrosion development. The normative life
limit of this new generation of pipes is 25-30 years.
Reference:
Moskovskaya Major heatinggrid is a basic part
of the heat supply system of St.
Petersburg. It supplies hot water and heat to
residents and customers in most of the Moskovsky and part of the Frunzensky
districts. The total length of the main is over 21 km of pipes. The heat supply
area of Moskovskaya covers 655 various buildings, of which over 500 are
residential buildings and many more are social institutions including the
Gastello City Hospital No. 20.
The power engineering specialists started
technical reconstruction of a section of this main on Lensoveta Street in 2010
when 1.064 km of a pipe, 800 mm in diameter, on Lensoveta Street from the
Southern drive of Tipanova Street was reconstructed. In the second stage in
2011, a 936-m long pipe section, 700 mm in diameter, on Lensoveta Street from the Southern drive
of Tipanova Street
to Aviatsionnaya Street
was replaced.
Generally, modernization of Moskovskaya is a
systemic process that has been in process since 2007. In 2007-2011, several
more heat pipeline sections with a total length of about 5 km of pipes were
reconstructed in addition to the facilities on Lensoveta Street.
